Life is beautiful!

My life is truly amazing. I am so thankful--SO THANKFUL.

We are still adjusting to life with two newborns. The nights are especially difficult. We all know how much I love to sleep and that has been a hard thing to come by lately. Imagine that haha. Regardless it's been wonderful. I can't stop staring at their beautiful faces and kissing them and hugging them. I never want to put them down, and they never want to be put down :-) They love to be held by mommy and daddy, and actually even if you aren't holding them but they are laying next to you they are happy.
Neither one of them like to take baths, and Olivia especially hates the diaper change. She swats her arms and snorts and cries and loud as she can. Sarah is more laid back, but when she gets upset you know it. She is a squawker for sure. She just recently started to snort a little bit but only when she's REALLY upset. They are both eating really well. They've just about doubled what they ate while in the hospital. At a good feeding they'll eat like 4 ounces and then they sleep really really well. It's awesome. Because of their low birth weights the doctor has me supplementing with formula after nursing. It's really doing the trick because like I said they are gaining weight quite well. Last week Sarah saw the doc and he said she's doing great. They go back on Feb. 17th I believe for their one month check up and I'll get their weights then. Last week Sarah weighed in a 4lbs 15 oz (she was 4lb 13 when she was born) and measured 19 inches (18.5 at birth) so she is doing very well. Olivia went to the doc the day she got out of the hospital so I am not sure of all her stats. I can tell you she is def heavier and longer. It's shocking how fast they grow.

I'm doing very well. I've lost 31lbs since they were born. Possibly more actually--I haven't weighed in for several days. I go to the doc in a couple of weeks but I'm not having any troubles. I can actually fit into most of my regular clothes (although they are still a bit tight) so I am wearing a few pieces of maternity clothes-jeans mostly. My tummy is jiggly though and I am NOT a fan of that. Once things get to be more normal I am going to start some sort of exercise routine, even if it's just a walk in the evening, to try and work on the belly. I have to comment that the human body is amazing. It's truly amazing what it can do, and rebound from. Every day I look at my perfect little girls and wonder how in the world that kind of perfection came from inside of me. I thought I had seen God before I had these babies, what with everything that my brother has made it through, but wow I had no clue. God is so good.

Well, I need to take advantage of this time I have to sleep. haha.

That was a piece of advice we got when we first had Ridley: when she sleeps, you sleep!

Not that I was always very good at that myself, but I still think it's good advice.

lol TRUE to Emily! I hate the tummy. It does go down way fast but I am still not a fan of what is there. lol.
